Job Description:

This observation medical-surgical registered nurse position at Deaconess Midtown offers a nights-only schedule from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am. You'll be working on a 13-week contract in a 23-bed unit that specializes in cardiac and neuro patients. Your role involves managing cardiac cath recoveries, post-surgical care, and neuro assessments, all while utilizing your expertise in EPIC charting. The team is supportive and welcoming to travelers, with a manager dedicated to maintaining low turnover. Expect to float within the skillset between Deaconess campuses in Newburgh, IN, and Henderson, KY, with short notice given for cross-campus shifts. The role emphasizes critical thinking and assessment skills, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. No patient care implications, but a focus on monitoring, assessments, and managing drips and drains will be essential.
