Job Description:

Join a dedicated team in a fast-paced observation unit that specializes in medical monitoring and patient assessment. This role offers the opportunity to work on a 12-hour day shift within a unit equipped for high patient turnover, including up to 16 discharges or admissions daily. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6, and staff must be comfortable managing common titratable drips like Heparin, as well as performing own EKGs and drawing labs. The environment is technically equipped, with heavy telemetry monitored through central monitoring stations, and includes responsibilities such as assessing patients for discharge and admission, often in a rapid turnaround setting. While the role does occasionally involve taking assignments as a charge nurse or house supervisor, it primarily focuses on patient monitoring, assessments, and documentation. Experience working within a similar medical observation setting, demonstrating familiarity with vital sign management and basic cardiac monitoring, will help you thrive in this unique, high-energy environment.
