Job Description:

This role involves working on a Medical Surgical unit that also functions as a boarding unit receiving patients from the Emergency Department. The RN will be responsible for caring for patients across different acuity levels, including MS, PCU, and ICU, with patient ratios fluctuating between 1:4 to 1:6 depending on acuity and staffing needs. The unit operates with team nursing, often collaborating with LPNs or CNAs, and occasionally floating to inpatient PCU units as needed. Diligence in documentation and adherence to protocols are crucial, with additional responsibilities in maintaining stability during patient transfers and boardings. The unique setting calls for a nurse comfortable with a variety of patient care situations, working both independently and within a team, in a fast-paced environment that values flexibility and careful delegation.
