Job Description:

Join a recently opened PCU unit in Cornelius, NC, for a 13-week travel contract as a Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care. This role focuses on adult medical patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, sepsis, and dialysis patients, among others. The shift is 12 hours during nights, offering a rewarding opportunity to work with a skilled team in a new, state-of-the-art facility that begins operations at 50% capacity and will grow over time. Travelers will handle responsibilities including IV starts, wound care, dressings, central line management, NG tube procedures, medication titrations like Cardizem and insulin, and interpreting cardiac rhythms. The role requires quick adaptation, a proactive attitude, and an ability to work independently, especially since there is no phlebotomy support or tele health. Epic EMR experience is essential, and familiarity with drips such as Heparin, Amiodarone, and Precedex is preferred. As a first-time traveler in this specialty, your skills will be put to good use in a supportive environment with opportunities to learn new procedures like vent management and advanced drips.
