Job Description:

This L&D contract position places you right in the thick of childbirth and postpartum care within a busy unit featuring 11 L&D rooms that double as triage spaces. You will be responsible for supporting high-risk deliveries, circulating during C-sections in the two dedicated OR suites, and managing postpartum patients averaging 5-6 births daily. The role requires adherence to AWHONN staffing guidelines, working a 12-hour night shift, with the opportunity to experience a lively hospital environment that balances clinical skill with a bit of the unpredictability of labor and delivery. An ideal candidate will be comfortable working with high-risk patients, titrating drips like Pitocin and Mag, and collaborating with in-house OB, neonatology, anesthesia, RT, and telemonitor technicians. You’ll be the trusted circulator for both routine and emergent deliveries, ensuring safety and efficiency in a supportive team setting. Traveling nurses should be prepared to float between L&D and postpartum units as needed, with additional opportunities to assist in triage and neonatal care. Your expertise helps deliver more than just babies — it helps bring new life into the world in a setting that appreciates both professionalism and a touch of humanity.
