Job Description:

This 13-week contract offers RN travelers a chance to work on a dedicated Medical Surgical Acute Care unit in Peoria, Illinois, focusing on general medicine patients with various diagnoses. The shift runs 12 hours overnight, providing an opportunity to experience the quiet hours of hospital life while managing a patient load with a ratio of approximately 5-6:1. You'll be responsible for titrating drips like Heparin, troubleshooting telemetry monitors, and collaborating with a team that includes 24/7 charge nurses and house supervisors. While the staff provides some supplies, travelers should bring their own scrubs and be prepared for a fast-paced environment where your skills in IV starts and patient monitoring are key to success. This role is perfect for nurses with at least one year of hospital experience who enjoy the complexity and responsibility of acute care nursing without the patient care directness but still requiring clinical proficiency.
