Job Description:

This stepdown neuro registered nurse role offers a fascinating opportunity to care for patients with complex neurological conditions in a busy, high-level hospital setting. You will be working on a 48-bed unit dedicated to medical surgical and telemetry care, with a focus on neurology and neurosurgery cases such as strokes, aneurysms, seizures, and brain or spinal cord tumors. The unit features special beds equipped for long-term EEG monitoring, providing a unique environment for skilled nurses who enjoy a mix of acute care and advanced neurological support. The shift is nighttime, 12 hours from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with a schedule that includes working three nights per week, and the contract duration spans approximately 13 weeks. You’ll be expected to float within the scope of your practice to meet staffing needs, including potential assignments at related units and campuses. This assignment is ideal for experienced neuro RNs prepared to navigate a fast-paced, multi-care level environment with high acuity patients. The role involves managing drips, utilizing EPIC charting, and providing care for up to five Med Surg patients or fewer in stepdown. Since the facility values seasoned professionals, first-time travelers are generally not accepted unless they have experience at large, urban hospitals.
