Job Description:

This travel contract is designed for Pre-Op Registered Nurses with at least one year of experience, ready to step into a role that covers preoperative care for a variety of surgical specialties. You’ll be responsible for preparing patients for procedures such as general surgery (including lap chole, appendectomy, bowel resection), vascular surgeries, plastics, gynecology, eye, dental, thoracic (excluding open-heart), and orthopedics, among others. Occasionally, you may assist with pre-op assessments for cath lab and endoscopy patients. The setting involves both ambulatory outpatient and inpatient units, with the opportunity to gain diverse hands-on experience in pre-and post-operative care, including patient education, assessments, and discharge procedures. Flexibility and attention to detail are crucial as you will sometimes float to different units, ensuring seamless patient transitions from pre-op to recovery.
