Job Description:

This assignment places you in the Neuro Acute unit, working 12-hour night shifts. As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for managing patients with neurological conditions such as epilepsy, brain tumors, TBI, and post-surgical cases. You’ll perform assessments, monitor small changes in patient status, and execute specialized procedures like Foley catheter insertions and central line care. The role includes participating in SIMs lab to demonstrate sterile field skills, along with lifts, restraints, and wound care training. Unique to this placement is the need for critical thinking skills to quickly identify subtle patient changes, especially in a setting where fast responses are essential. With a focus on neuro care, you will coordinate closely with in-house hospitalists or intensivists and manage ventilated patients with BiPAP assistance. This contract offers an engaging opportunity to sharpen your neuro assessment skills in a fast-paced environment while working alongside experienced teams. Being prepared for occasional cross-floor floating and weekend shifts is part of the journey, providing a comprehensive experience in neurological nursing.
