Job Description:

This respiratory therapy contract offers a chance to work with adult ICU patients requiring advanced respiratory support, including vent management, intubation, and ABG analysis. You'll be the first line responder for airway management and ventilator troubleshooting, working alongside hospitalist and intensivist teams in a busy, high-volume environment. The role involves performing a range of respiratory treatments, managing patients with conditions like COPD, CHF, pneumonia, ARDS, and cancers. Expect to handle up to four ventilated patients per shift, with a focus on delivering critical interventions efficiently during 12-hour day shifts. This assignment is ideal for experienced RTs comfortable with heavy workloads and critical care procedures, including placement of arterial lines and management of complex ventilator settings. Experience with Servo vents and high-acuity adult ICU care is essential, and confidence in reading ABGs and responding to urgent values is a must. You'll be an integral part of a team that supports each other through a demanding but rewarding work period, all while immersing yourself in a fast-paced critical care environment.
