Job Description:

This contract offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a busy hospital setting with 36-48 beds, accommodating patients across Med/Surg, IMC, and Long Length stay units. As a traveler, you'll manage a diverse caseload, including patients with DKA, post-surgical recovery, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, renal failure, and other complex conditions, administering oral, IV, IM, and SQ medications, titratable drips, and managing various lines and tubes. You'll interpret telemetry readouts and support wound and skin care initiatives. Work involves caring for patients across different acuity levels, with ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on the area. The shift is overnight, 12 hours long, and spans six weeks, with the possibility of working up to four weekends. This assignment is unique in its mix of patient types and the scope of skills required, offering a rewarding experience on a unit that values versatility and expertise. The role emphasizes the use of EPIC electronic charting and promotes collaboration with CNA, RT, and hospitalist teams. Nurses will receive two days of orientation plus unit-specific training, ensuring smooth transition into this fast-paced environment.
