Join a fast-paced, post-surgical care unit in Wausau, Wisconsin, providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients following various surgical procedures. This 40-bed inpatient unit emphasizes efficiency and teamwork, handling 10-15 admissions daily with an average stay of 2-3 days. Your focus will be on monitoring post-recovery patients, managing multiple acuity levels, and coordinating seamlessly with your team during 12-hour night shifts. Location: Wausau, WI
Shift: 12-hour nights
Duration: 13 weeks
Hours per week: 36
Guaranteed hours during the week, with low census unbillable hours and potential on-call shifts. Must have a WI RN license, BLS (AHA or ARC), at least 2 years of recent hospital Med Surg experience, trauma level II background, and prior travel experience. Charting will be performed using Epic EMR and Rovers for medication scanning. Previous experience with post-surgical and recovery unit care is essential, and the ability to prioritize and multitask is required for success in this fast-paced environment.
