Job Description:

Join our team in Wheeling’s Intermediate Care Unit, where you'll be immersed in a fast-paced environment managing patients with chest pain, arrhythmias, post-catheterization care, and other intermediate acuity cases. This 13-week contract offers a unique opportunity to work 12-hour rotating shifts, balancing days and nights while enjoying the flexibility of self-scheduling. The unit features a mix of private and semi-private beds, with ratios typically around 1:4 to 1:5, and occasional peaks up to 1:6. You’ll read and interpret telemetry strips, titrate medications such as Amiodarone and Heparin, and collaborate closely with respiratory therapists and specialists available 24/7. This setting provides the chance to hone advanced skills in cardiac monitoring, drips management, and vent support, all within a supportive team environment that includes hospitalists, intensivists, and in-house pharmacy and RT services.

Location: Wheeling, West Virginia
Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 weeks (approximately 36 hours per week)
