Job Description:

Step into a critical role within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Weston, Wisconsin. You'll be working 12-hour night shifts, managing patients with conditions like cardiac emergencies, post-catheterization care, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, GI bleeds, detox, respiratory distress, and sepsis. This assignment isn't your typical bedside gig — you'll be managing titratable and set-rate drips such as nitro, diltiazem, insulin, heparin, and amiodarone, often in a fast-paced environment where quick decisions matter. Your expertise in managing IV medications and familiarity with post-cath lab protocols will be key. You'll work alongside charge nurses handling up to 2 patients each, with support from nurse aides and telemetry techs who read GE monitors. The unit offers advanced respiratory support like Cpap, bipap, and optiflow. You'll also experience the rhythm of every-other weekend and holiday shifts, with additional call or standby responsibilities. The team welcomes those comfortable floating to overflow ICU areas, ensuring a versatile and engaging experience. Be prepared for a unit that values your skill and vigilance, where your management of complex cardiac patients makes a real difference.
