Job Description:

This travel assignment calls for an experienced nurse to join a 32-bed flex unit that handles both intermediate and general cases, primarily focusing on oncology patients undergoing surgical procedures, including ENT, colorectal, OB/GYN, urology, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and thoracic surgeries. The role involves performing preoperative assessments, preparing patients for surgery, and assisting in intraoperative activities. Shift work is 12-hour nights, with a typical schedule that includes working on weekends and a few holidays, offering a chance to experience the lively hospital atmosphere during quieter hours. The environment demands reading and interpreting EKG strips, with a focus on surgical patients requiring detailed postoperative care in an outpatient or recovery setting.
