Job Description:

This contract offers the chance to work in a dedicated Neuro and Neuro-Surgical unit at Deaconess IL Medical Center. As an RN on the 22-bed Neuro unit, you'll manage a diverse patient population including CVAs and patients undergoing elective back or neck surgeries. The role involves performing neuro assessments like NIHSS, dysphagia screening, and handling medical overflow, along with tasks such as blood draws, IV management, and medication administration. Expect to take patient assignments independently, with the flexibility of floating to adjacent medical units as needed. The 12-hour night shifts present an opportunity to hone your assessment skills and critical thinking in a fast-paced, specialized environment. This assignment is unique for its focus on neuro-specific care and the chance to expand your expertise in both neurological and general medical care within a collaborative team.
