Job Description:

Join our team as a Cardio Thoracic ICU Registered Nurse in Chesapeake, VA, where you'll directly impact the care of post-operative cardiac and step-down patients within a specialized ICU setting. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to work with a universal bed model, caring for both intensive and step-down level patients on the same unit. You'll handle complex procedures such as arterial line management, vent management, cardioversion, and titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, all while working the overnight shift. The role involves a 13-week contract with the potential for extension, with shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, providing a balanced work schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and float coverage. You'll gain experience in a high-acuity environment, utilizing advanced monitoring systems like FloTrac/Vigileo and managing critically ill cardiac patients. This is a hands-on role for experienced CVICU nurses seeking a challenge and a chance to hone their skills in a supportive, state-of-the-art setting.
