Job Description:

This travel assignment is in the Advanced Care Unit (ACU) at a hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The role involves working in a stepdown environment with patients who have experienced strokes, trauma, or vascular issues. You'll be responsible for managing patient acuity, reading EKG strips, titrating medications like Cardizem, Insulin, and Heparin based on physician orders, and collaborating with charge nurses. The shift consists of 12-hour days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a commitment of 36 hours per week over 13 weeks. The unit maintains a ratio of 1 RN to 4-10 patients and has a team of PCTs and monitor techs. This assignment offers a chance to work with high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for self-scheduling and occasional floating to similar units as needed.
