Job Description:

Join a travel contract as an ICU Registered Nurse in Chesapeake, Virginia, working nights and supporting critical care alongside a strong focus on neuro experience. This coastal assignment is minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk, offering an outdoor-friendly lifestyle between shifts. Your day-to-day will include managing high-acuity neuro cases such as post-neurosurgical care, EVD experience, and stroke support, along with ventilator care, IV drip titration, and telemetry monitoring. You’ll also assist with conscious sedation needs and emergency response for dysrhythmias and urgent situations.

The unit supports flexible staffing, so you must be willing to float to the Stepdown Unit, and you may also float to ED/MedSurg to care for ICU patients being held. Shift structure options include 3x12 or 4x12 nights, and the contract offers OT after 48 hours on 4x12 schedules. The schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays within the contract period.

Expect mild, coastal conditions with comfortable daytime temperatures and cooler evenings. Humidity can rise at times, and occasional rain showers are possible, so planning for variable weather is a good idea.
