Job Description:

Work as a Registered Nurse on a 8-bed Observation Unit / Inpatient setting in Wausau, Wisconsin, supporting a steady flow of admissions and discharges with an average stay of up to 48 hours. This 13-week travel contract features 12-hour night shifts with variable schedules, floating to other inpatient units as needed. You’ll work a 36-hour week (with weekend/holiday expectations every other), chart in Epic, and be comfortable reading and interpreting rhythm strips. The assignment is best for an RN with solid experience in observation units or step-down MS/Tele backgrounds, including the ability to manage common IV drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin.

Expect a role that moves quickly—adapting as census changes during low census hours, which may be worked in smaller increments (4 or 8 hours) when requested. You’ll bring strong clinical skills, thrive when tasks shift throughout the night, and collaborate with RNs and the wider team to keep care organized and efficient.
