Job Description:

Join an inpatient acute care therapy/rehabilitation team as an Occupational Therapist in Lafayette, Indiana, providing OT services across a wide range of acuity levels. This contract is Monday through Friday with one weekend day per month throughout the assignment.

You’ll evaluate and develop individualized plans of care (POCs), then follow through daily with goal-focused interventions. Your work may include ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic activities designed to improve function. Each day also brings discharge disposition recommendations as you assess appropriateness for next steps.

The cases you’ll see can span diagnoses such as cardiac procedures (including CABG), stroke, TBI, joint replacement, fracture repairs, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, and Parkinson’s disease—plus ongoing support for ambulation and functional independence. This assignment is best suited to an OT with at least 1 year of experience in an acute hospital setting and comfort working with inpatient rehab workflows.

Weather:

Expect a mix of comfortable days and occasional cooler evenings, with changing conditions typical for the region. Bring layers for morning and late-day variability, and be ready for periodic rainfall.
