Job Description:

Join a busy MedSurg unit in Wheeling, WV, for a 13-week contract working 12-hour day shifts. This role involves managing a varied patient load, including ortho post-ops, neuro surgeries, and medical conditions like COPD and pneumonia. You’ll be the go-to nurse on a unit with predominantly private rooms, supporting safe patient transitions and collaborating with an in-house IV team, pharmacy, and hospitalist staff. The unique aspect of this assignment is the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your experience with neuro, ortho, or dialysis is highly valued. Charge nurses handle a full patient load, sometimes with clinical assistants on the floor. Expect a schedule with every other weekend, some holiday rotations, and the chance to experience a hospital that operates 24/7 with comprehensive supports like RT and pharmacy services.
