Job Description:

This registered nurse role in a psychiatric inpatient unit offers an opportunity to work in a specialized behavioral health setting with child, adolescent, and adult patients. The 12-hour night shifts involve managing a variety of psychiatric diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and psychosis, with a patient-to-RN ratio of approximately 1:8-9. You’ll perform tasks such as administering medications, conducting assessments, implementing physical restraints when necessary, and supporting patients through de-escalation techniques. The assignment emphasizes team collaboration, documentation via EPIC, and working with a well-supported staff including security, psych techs, and a charge nurse. The facility is located off the main campus, and duties may include floating between units within scope of practice. This assignment combines routine clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety and patient stabilization, all within a structured but engaging psychiatric environment.
