Job Description:

Join a Med Surg RN contract on the night shift in Mount Ayr, Iowa, where you'll work 12-hour nights from 7 pm to 7 am, alternating weekends, in a facility with 16 beds and an average census of three patients. This role offers the chance to float to the ER when needed, gaining experience in a small hospital setting with a focus on geriatric, post-op orthopedic, and general surgery patients. You'll be responsible for interpreting telemetry strips, titrating medications like Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Levophed, and providing care for telemetry patients. Strong EMR skills are essential as you'll learn a smaller, less common system. Expect to work with a team of RNs, LPNs, and support staff, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:3-4 during your shift.
