Job Description:

Join North Alabama Medical Center as a registered nurse in the Critical Care Stepdown unit, where you'll provide specialized care for adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac procedures, strokes, or respiratory issues. This assignment involves working 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a steady weekly schedule of 36 hours. You'll work on the 2nd floor in a 31-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5, using equipment like Baxter IV pumps and epidural pumps. The role emphasizes hands-on skills such as managing cardiac drips and chest tubes, with a focus on a compassionate, respectful team environment. Weekly orientation on Mondays ensures you're well-prepared to handle the unique challenges of this busy unit.
