Job Description:

This Labor & Delivery RN position offers a chance to work in a bustling hospital setting in Newark, Delaware, focusing on maternal care during labor, delivery, and postpartum. You'll be handling cases such as labor induction, cesarean sections, external cephalic versions, and fetal demise situations. The shift is a consistent 12-hour day schedule, giving you ample opportunity to experience the hospital's workflow and the fast-paced environment of obstetric care. This role is ideal for a nurse with at least two years of specialty experience, comfortable managing high-acuity cases, and working with a team to ensure positive outcomes. Expect to be part of a close-knit team that values precise documentation in Cerner (soon to be Epic) and a collaborative approach, all while supporting expectant mothers through every stage of labor. The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:3, ensuring manageable caseloads and quality patient interactions. Participation in holiday coverage is required, and float support to antenatal, high-risk, OB triage, and postpartum units is part of the experience.
