Job Description:

This PICU Registered Nurse role offers a unique opportunity to work in a specialized pediatric intensive care setting on 12-hour night shifts. The position involves managing ventilated patients with typical ratios of 1:2, providing critical care to the most vulnerable pediatric patients. The nurse will support a team with CNAs and a med clerk, and may occasionally assist with PICU assignments requiring prior training or orientation. A charge nurse with no assigned patients will guide the team, and the role requires previous PICU experience plus charge nurse expertise. The assignment spans 13 weeks, with guaranteed hours up to 36 weekly, including an additional four hours scheduled for breaks and lunches. The hospital values cultural sensitivity, particularly towards the Native population, and requires Alaska licensure or proof of application at the time of signing, with specific provisions for compact license holders. This assignment provides an engaging experience in a well-respected acute care hospital.
