Job Description:

Join a 13-week contract working as a registered nurse on a Medical-Surgical unit in Rugby, North Dakota. This role features a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, providing an engaging mix of days and nights. You will be responsible for managing patient loads typically with a 1:6 ratio during both day and night shifts, with occasional nights at 1:8. Your duties include taking vitals, assisting with ambulation, performing ADLs, rounding, and responding to patient needs. The unit primarily handles patients with conditions such as pneumonia, post-op recovery, UTI, pain control, and general medical issues. Experience with IVs, basic familiarity with the EPIC system, and the ability to assist in ER situations when needed are valued. The environment emphasizes teamwork, with nurse aides supporting patient care and charge nurses overseeing operations and administration. No blood sugar or IV administration is required, but you will be expected to interpret cardiac strips and administer breathing treatments as needed. The setting is private rooms, ensuring a peaceful and personalized care experience for patients.
