Job Description:

This ED RN contract places you in Manitowoc’s 12-bed emergency department, where hallway beds and a fast-paced environment keep you engaged throughout the night shift. You'll manage a mix of adult patients with diverse conditions, performing procedures such as chest tubes, IV starts, phlebotomy, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. Staffing varies slightly after 2300 and 0100 hours, with a team of 5 RN’s and 1 paramedic dropping to 4 RN’s plus paramedic, then to 3 RN’s with paramedic coverage. The unit relies on shared resources like phlebotomy at the bedside and in-house RT and hospitalist support. Your shift is 12 hours nightly, providing an immersive experience in a Level IV Trauma Center that sees a wide patient acuity range—neonates to geriatrics—within a busy, well-equipped facility. Expect to collaborate with support staff such as CNAs, resource RNs, and the in-house RT team, all using Epic for charting and GE monitors for assessments. This assignment offers excellent exposure to emergency procedures and a chance to refine your skills in a high-energy environment.
