Job Description:

This 13-week contract in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) in Peoria, Illinois, offers a rewarding opportunity for ICU RNs to apply their trauma and post-surgical expertise. You'll manage complex cases, including open abdomens and multi-system trauma, often titrating drips like pressors and sedation. The shift involves 12-hour days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a mandatory 36 hours per week. Expect to work six weekends over the course of the assignment and every other holiday. The role includes a comprehensive orientation to ensure you are set up for success handling advanced equipment such as vents, Bipap, and CPAP, along with reading tele monitors. As part of this team, you'll collaborate with in-house intensivists and utilize telemedicine support, all while delivering quality care to critically ill patients in a unit staffed with nurse aides, patient care techs, and continuous RT coverage. This assignment is perfect for seasoned ICU nurses who thrive in fast-paced, trauma-intensive environments with the ability to titrate complex drips and interpret strips confidently.
