Job Description:

Provide specialized cardiovascular intensive care for post-open-heart surgery and cardiac medical patients in a 12-hour daytime assignment. Responsibilities include managing postoperative day-one cardiac patients, ventilated and tracheostomy patients, Swan-Ganz catheters, vasoactive medication titration, and post-cardiac-catheterization recovery. The unit uses Epic, Omnicell, B. Braun IV pumps, Avea ventilators, and Edwards and Philips monitoring systems. The assignment includes a 12-hour CVICU orientation and may require floating to other critical-care or hospital units as a resource nurse. Scrubs may be any color.
