Job Description:

This travel contract is for an experienced registered nurse specializing in stepdown care. You will provide direct care for patients with respiratory failure, COPD, gastrointestinal bleeding, electrolyte imbalances, cancer, and other complex medical conditions. The assignment includes frequent use of tracheostomy, ventilator, Vapotherm, and BiPAP equipment in a respiratory-focused inpatient setting. Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, treatment implementation, patient monitoring, coordination with other departments, and evaluation of outcomes. The schedule consists of overnight shifts, with occasional weekend coverage and no call requirement. Travelers should have at least one year of inpatient stepdown experience, current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, and be prepared to float to a similar or lower-acuity unit as needed.
