Most facilities require 2+ years of recent Level III or Level IV NICU experience, including ventilator management, neonatal resuscitation, and high-acuity care for premature and medically fragile infants.

NICU travel nurses typically need an active RN license, BLS, NRP, and often PALS. Level IV NICUs may also prefer nurses with RNC-NIC certification.
