Job Description:

Join our team as a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) in a bustling short-term acute care setting. This role offers an engaging opportunity to work with adult psychiatric and geriatric patients, many with co-morbid medical conditions requiring a med-surg approach. You'll be responsible for medication administration, starting and maintaining IVs, blood glucose monitoring, Foley catheter insertion and care, and supporting patients through various treatments such as ECT pre-op prep. The assignment involves working 12-hour day shifts on a 3x12 schedule, providing a chance to immerse yourself in diverse mental health treatments within a level I trauma, magnet hospital. Float within the scope of practice to different behavioral health units as needed, sometimes caring for patients with diagnoses like dementia, depression, Parkinson’s Disease, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. This unique assignment also includes responsibilities like restraint application and serving as a charge nurse when required, all in a facility known for its teaching excellence and commitment to patient care.
