Job Description:

This histology technologist role offers an engaging opportunity to work night shifts in the vibrant city of Houston. You will be responsible for validating specimen identification, processing tissue samples with precision, and preparing slides for interpretation. Your expertise will ensure tissues are embedded and sectioned accurately, with a focus on quality over speed—no more than one complaint from a pathologist for poor quality. You’ll perform routine staining procedures, assist with biopsies and specimen retrieval, and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise. The role features a typical 4AM shift, Monday through Friday, with a 40-hour workweek across 20 weeks of contract. This assignment is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with at least two years of experience, preferably in a hospital or reference lab setting, with skills in special stains and frozen sections.
