Job Description:

This assignment places you on a 14-bed overflow med/surg tele unit, located inside a flexible GI Endoscopy space, where patient numbers can fluctuate based on demand. As an LVN/LPN or RN, you'll utilize your competency in phlebotomy and IV placement—a must for RNs at Unity—to assist with a variety of medical-surgical tasks. Expect to perform blood glucose testing, manage feeding tubes, insert Foley catheters (male and female), administer medications via IM, SQ, and oral routes, as well as manage oxygen therapy using nasal cannulas and masks. You will also be responsible for bathing, assisting with ambulation, and monitoring vital signs, all while communicating patient status changes effectively to the healthcare team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, flexible space dedicated to overflow patient care, with a focus on procedural tasks rather than direct patient care. The night shift runs 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts per week, providing a stable but engaging schedule.
