Job Description:

This RN contract offers the opportunity to work in a 29-bed acute care unit in Peoria, IL, where you will manage a range of medical diagnoses including GI bleeds, sepsis, CHF, and COVID. You’ll get to see a variety of patients, including those undergoing surgery or procedures, with typical census levels of 22-26. The role involves titrating Heparin drips, working 12-hour night shifts, and providing care to elderly and adult patients. The unit has a team-oriented approach with a 4-6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, and there are always experienced charge nurses and support staff like PCTs. The environment encourages independent decision-making with access to telemonitoring and 24/7 resource coverage. It’s a chance to sharpen your skills in a busy, but supportive setting, where the focus is on delivering quality care during each shift.
