Job Description:

Join a pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a renowned teaching hospital in Winston-Salem. This role involves caring for mainly inpatient pediatric patients aged 0-17 following surgical procedures, with occasional adult patient care based on unit needs. As a PACU RN, you'll manage newly postoperative patients, monitor vital signs, and handle vented patients transferred straight to the ICU. The unit operates with a team-oriented, all-hands-on-deck mentality, encouraging resourcefulness and quick thinking. Expect to work in an open bay setting, providing direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity. The role demands experience with IV gtts management, including Heparin and Insulin infusions, and comfort with limited BiPAP use. Certified in BLS and PALS, you'll collaborate closely with transporters, educators, and support staff in an environment supported by state-of-the-art equipment and technology, including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips monitors. This assignment offers a lively, engaging work experience in a hospital dedicated to pediatric and adult acute care, with a focus on safety and teamwork.
