Job Description:

This 13-week contract offers a unique opportunity to work in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in Bismarck, North Dakota. As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for recovering pediatric and adult patients emerging from anesthesia, managing vented patients, and providing compassionate care for patients with varying needs, including those with disabilities. The shift is a 12-hour night schedule, with shifts typically running from 7:30 PM to 7:00 AM or similar hours, enabling a work-life balance with ample off-time. This assignment includes a thorough two-day unit-specific orientation, and you'll work alongside a skilled team that values kindness, efficiency, and teamwork. The role involves handling mixed cases, some requiring special attention for pediatric patients, and ensuring safety in a dynamic environment that occasionally requires floating to inpatient units. You will be familiar with EMR systems and be comfortable managing patient strips and vented patients requiring blood products or pressors. Critical thinking and the ability to recover pediatric patients are essential, along with a willingness to support colleagues and contribute positively to the unit’s atmosphere.
