Job Description:

Step into a dynamic travel contract supporting an antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum workflow in Socorro, New Mexico. You’ll handle obstetric triage for patients over 20 weeks using acuity tools, evaluate labor and fetal status, and respond to common high-acuity presentations such as preeclampsia signs, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, PTL, PPROM, vaginal bleeding, and acute events (including MVA or large abruptio). During intrapartum, you’ll support labor assessment and fetal evaluation, prepare the expectant mother for safe delivery, and administer time-sensitive medications (including Pitocin, misoprostol, terbutaline, magnesium sulfate, and several common antihypertensives and insulin). You’ll also assist in prep for scheduled or emergency cesarean delivery. Postpartum and newborn responsibilities include assessment for both vaginal and cesarean deliveries, along with newborn tasks such as hearing screening, IV starts and care, lab support, medication administration (including hep B, vit K, erythromycin, and antibiotics), circumcision assistance, phototherapy, hypoglycemia care, and stabilization/transport prep for critically ill newborns.

Expect mild days with cooler evenings and generally dry conditions, with occasional breezes and bright sunshine that makes outdoor breaks comfortable.

Weekly Commitment: 36.0 hours
Coverage Area: Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.
