Job Description:

Join a travel Observation unit as a Med/Surg–experienced MS RN, supporting patient evaluation for conditions such as chest pain, abdominal pain, flank pain, CVA/TIA, and generalized weakness while placements are determined. This 13-week contract works 12-hour day shifts, typically running 6:30 AM–7:00 PM, with a float requirement within your skillset—first priority is within the Deaconess Gateway campus locations in Newburgh, and you may occasionally float cross-campus with advance notice.

You’ll chart using EPIC (recent EPIC experience required with a required checkoff class), perform key bedside skills such as PIV insertion and stable drip management (including heparin, lasix, and protonix), and support evidence-based stroke evaluation workflow (NIHSS required). Expect a teamwork-focused unit with strong LPN/CNA support—hard work matters, and resilience through change is valued. One lighthearted perk: the workday moves fast, so you’ll get plenty of chances to “race the clock” and feel the win when tasks are completed.
