Job Description:

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department travel healthcare contract in Bakersfield, California, supporting an ED team in a 12-hour night shift fast-track workflow. This assignment is designed for a seasoned ED professional who will help keep throughput steady, assist with stabilization and rapid evaluation workflows, and coordinate closely with the shift manager, resource nurse, ED technicians/EMTs, and onsite support services. You’ll work with BLS/ACLS/PALS-compliant processes and utilize required certifications including NIHSS, supporting a mix of adult emergency presentations with a notable correctional (CDCR) population present during your shift. The ED cares for approximately 85–115 patients per day, with fewer pediatric cases than the nearby campus, and no cardiac patient focus—many cases are stabilized and transferred out for further care. Expect strong teamwork and smooth handoffs across shifts, with self-scheduling set for 4-week blocks (finalized by the manager after balancing). Floating between two closely located facilities may occur with prior notice if needed.
