Job Description:

Step into a senior Respiratory Therapist role supporting advanced respiratory care in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with a focus on airway management, mechanical ventilator setup and verification, oxygen and aerosol therapies, and bedside pulmonary function testing. This contract is built for an experienced RT who can work independently with minimal supervision—serving as a go-to resource for others while maintaining calm, accurate care across complex respiratory needs.

Your work may include tracheostomy and airway procedures, endotracheal intubations and extubations, and comprehensive ventilator management with appropriate monitoring and weaning techniques. Depending on assignment, you may also support specialized protocols such as Carolina Air Care transports (including pediatric and neonatal patients per UNC Air Care Protocol) and ECMO responsibilities for cardiac and respiratory support. On-call coverage may be required on days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
