Job Description:

Work as a Travel Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse on a primary cardiac and stroke unit in Salisbury, North Carolina. This is a fast-paced, high-acuity telemetry setting where you’ll manage telemetry assignments with care that includes pre- and post-procedure cardiac patients. Your day-to-day will include running and titrating cardiac drips such as Cardiazem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone, caring for patients undergoing pacemaker implantation, implanted cardioverter/defibrillator management, and cardiac catheterization workflows, including TR band post-care as applicable. You’ll also support stroke-unit needs with admissions for new CVA and TIA patients, along with lower-acuity evaluations such as low-risk chest pain and unstable angina.

Expect a busy assignment where turnover is frequent, and a nurse with a typical 1:5–6 patient load may turn over an entire assignment and begin again quickly. The unit includes a team lead to assist with admissions and discharges to help keep flow moving. The specialty orientation is designed to get you up to speed for the unit’s pace and systems, including Pyxis, Dimensions (EPIC), and SBAR communication.
