Job Description:

Join a dynamic MedSurg/Tele team as an RN Resource Team traveler in Charlotte, North Carolina, supporting a unit that specializes in head/neck and GI surgical services along with medical overflow. This contract is built around 12-hour nights, including a weekend rotation (every other weekend) with no call. You’ll read telemetry and respond as needed—there is no monitoring tech—while bringing strong MedSurg/Tele fundamentals to a wide variety of cases, including tracheostomies, laryngectomies, hernia repairs, colorectal surgery, cholecystectomies, appendectomies, ostomy takedowns, and more.

Expect skill-forward work: stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (including Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, and Foley insertion/management), and PCA pumps. The role also includes medication gtt management such as cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF—supported by an organized department structure with charge nurse coverage and 24/7 RT and hospitalist/intensivist resources. Float may be required within the assigned region and scope of practice across nearby facilities as needs arise, with travel time between facilities handled while remaining on the clock.
