Job Description:

Step into a PACU Registered Nurse travel role with a blend of pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery in New Orleans, supporting a wide range of surgical services across pediatric and adult patients. This assignment includes the chance to work across a high-volume OR footprint, helping prepare for and recover cases from regional anesthesia through major surgical services. Your day shift will run 8 hours, following a schedule designed for focused, hands-on recovery workflows.

You may also be assigned to an “Emergency Team,” with expectations to remain at the facility through the event window or rotate to a relief team after the event passes. Exact details regarding pay impacts are shared with each emergency event.

Candidates should be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed. The unit supports surgical/procedural populations with exclusion for cases requiring critical care services. If you enjoy varied recovery care across ages and phases of the perioperative journey—and can adapt quickly when plans change—this is a unique fit.

Weather:

Expect warm, sometimes humid days with occasional showers or thunderstorms. Evenings are typically mild, making it a pleasant time to be outside when the weather cooperates.
