Job Description:

Join a travel contract as a Registered Nurse and Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDI) in Chicago, IL—focused on clinical documentation integrity. In this role, you’ll review and support documentation to ensure it accurately reflects patient clinical status, working closely with clinical teams to clarify and strengthen documentation through evidence-based updates. This 5x8-day schedule (08:00 - 04:30) is designed for consistent daytime coverage, with your work centered on CDI best practices rather than bedside workflow alone. CCDS certification is preferred, and you’ll be expected to complete the CDI checklist as part of onboarding and ongoing compliance.

Required qualifications include an Illinois RN license, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing, clinical documentation integrity experience, and a minimum of 2 years of bedside nursing experience alongside participation in clinical quality, patient safety, or related initiatives. Change management experience is essential, as is the ability to help drive documentation improvements that make a measurable difference in the quality of the record.
