Job Description:

This 13-week travel assignment places you in a MedSurg/Tele unit at a reputable hospital in Shelby, NC. As an RN, you’ll work 12-hour days, providing care for patients with a variety of diagnoses, including cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions. The unit sees an average of 24 patients daily, with RN-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 during regular staffing—and occasional surge staffing up to 1:7-8. Your responsibilities will include rhythm interpretation, managing non-titrating cardiac drips like Cardizem and Amiodarone, and performing general medical/surgical procedures such as tube and drain care, IV starts, blood product administration, and dressing changes. The hospital offers support from a charge nurse, phlebotomy, RT, hospitalist, and telehealth monitoring, all utilizing EPIC electronic health records. Floating between facilities within Region 3 (including Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division) may be required. The role includes two days of departmental orientation and optional work on weekends, with some call and holiday work expected. This assignment offers a chance to sharpen your skills in a fast-paced but welcoming environment, while exploring a charming North Carolina city.
