Job Description:

Join this hospital-based travel assignment in Albany, GA, as a Surgical Technologist working variable shifts totaling 40 hours per week over an expected 17-week contract. You’ll work within 19 surgical suites, assisting with approximately 55-60 cases daily—around 1,000 cases each month—covering a variety of specialties such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular procedures. The role requires CST certification, with an emphasis on flexibility and proficiency across multiple services. This is a chance to gain diverse experience in a fast-paced environment where your reliability and broad skillset will be valued. Expect a one-week orientation on floor protocols and equipment. Your responsibilities will include assisting surgeons, managing surgical instruments and supplies, and ensuring efficient case flow. Weekend coverage is required roughly once per quarter, with call responsibilities averaging every 7th weekend, limited to cases within your competency. The hospital operates 24/7, with support from RT and pharmacy services around the clock, and surgeons on call 24/7 as well. Expect to follow strict protocols with a 30-minute call response time, and to adhere to provided scrubbing attire. This facility functions as a level 2 trauma center, excluding pediatric and transplant cases, with a focus on ortho/neuro trauma, robotics, and non-urgent cases.
