Job Description:

This labor and delivery assignment in Chandler, AZ offers an immersive experience in a busy, high-acuity maternity unit. As a circulating nurse, you'll be actively involved in assisting with C-sections, monitoring laboring patients, and ensuring smooth operation in a fast-paced environment. Expect to work 12-hour night shifts, where your skills in computer charting—and familiarity with Cerner—will be essential. The role emphasizes safe staffing levels aligned with AWHONN guidelines, with most nurse-to-patient ratios around 2:1, but flexibility is key given the unit’s varied patient acuity. Prepare for a comprehensive orientation including a week of unit-specific training and a pass/fail sim lab, along with the requirement to pass a dysrhythmia exam before acceptance. The assignment promises a rewarding chance to work alongside experienced OB Hospitalists and an in-house RT team, handling laboring and preterm pregnant patients with gestation 28 weeks and above in a Level II EQ trauma setting.
